What do I need to book my ticket?
You need your passport details and a method to pay online.
When booking, the name on the ticket must exactly match your passport. Park rangers will check your original passport at the entry gate against the booking manifest. Digital copies are often rejected.
Does a tour include my Mount Bromo entrance ticket?
Most organized 4WD jeep tours include the national park entry fee.
Booking a tour is the easiest way to handle ticketing. Tour operators purchase the online tickets for you using your passport details. They also manage the mandatory 4WD transport required to reach the sunrise viewpoints and the crater.
How does the visitor quota work?
The national park caps daily entry at roughly 2,752 people.
This limit applies to the entire park, including all sunrise viewpoints and the Sea of Sand. During peak season from April to October, tickets sell out quickly. Booking well ahead of the 48-hour minimum is essential.
Are 2WD vehicles allowed inside?
Private 2WD vehicles and automatic scooters are prohibited in the Sea of Sand.
You cannot drive a standard rental car to the crater. You must rent a local 4x4 jeep from Cemoro Lawang or Wonokitri. This costs between 600,000 IDR and 800,000 IDR per jeep.
